Dr. Hinojosa is a K-12 public school administrator and a partner to leaders in the public education sector.
He has served as a Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Financial Officer, District Comptroller and Financial Controller at Texas-based open-enrollment public schools (public charter / independent school district). As a Collabolition Lead Advisor, Dr. Hinojosa has also advised public charter schools in the areas of regulatory compliance, data analytics, negotiations, municipal bond post-issuance compliance, restructuring & turnaround, strategy, and other analytical consulting services.
Prior to his transition to the education sector in 2010, Dr. Hinojosa was a specialist in financial analysis and technical valuation of publicly and privately-held companies, patents and other intellectual property. As a Vice President at a boutique investment banking firm, he advised a wide variety of middle market clients in the areas of corporate merger, acquisition, and financing transactions. Dr. Hinojosa also served as a Manager in the Corporate Finance and Valuation Services practice of RubinBrown, LLP, a national public accounting firm, and served as an Economic Advisory Services Manager in the Los Angeles office of Grant Thornton, LLP, a national public accounting firm.
Dr. Hinojosa's classroom experience includes a 27 month overseas assignment in the United States Peace Corps. He served as a teacher educator and entrepreneurship advisor in urban and rural Nicaragua. He earned the distinction of Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) for successfully completing his 2010-2012 service in the Departments of Granada and Masaya, Nicaragua.
